Five Entrance software consultants passed Microsoft certification exams

In order to become Gold certified with Microsoft, a company is required to have a certain number of Certified Solution Experts. Five Entrance software consultants have made strides recently towards completing certification by recently completing a number of  exams, including:

Entrance currently has two certified SharePoint development solution experts, and three certified application development experts.

Oh JavaScript, I’m sorry I doubted you.

In this series, Entrance’s Metro application intern gives his perspective on getting his feet wet with JavaScript + HTML5!

It’s not hard to find programmers poking fun at JavaScript. It seems to have always been a language that was stuck on the web, and even there it had some stiff competition. My first acts of programming took place on the web, and yet I never quite touched JavaScript, or even found myself regretting that I hadn’t. As a result, I developed some distaste for JavaScript. After all, none of the web designers I spoke with – some of whom were pretty talented – ever spoke of the language in a good light.

Microsoft Worldwide Partner Conference

Entrance Software’s President, Project Managers and Software Consultants attended Microsoft’s Worldwide Partner Conference July 7-10 in Houston, Texas. This annual event offers keynote speakers, sessions and forums for Microsoft Certified Partners from around the globe. The conference provides executives a chance to network with thousands of Microsoft Partners to expand business opportunities. In addition, attendees learn about new products and business models offered by Microsoft. As a Microsoft Gold Certified Partner, Entrance was eager to participate in this year’s conference in our hometown.

Microsoft .NET

The Microsoft platform is the most pervasive platform in business circles for building web applications. For companies professing to develop solutions built on the .NET platform, look for a Microsoft Certification. The web-related elements of the .NET platform are collectively known as ASP.NET. While the .NET platform is most often found running on the Microsoft server platform (under the web server IIS), an open source compiler and runtime environment (called “Mono”) is available which will allow .NET code to run on most any platform.

Microsoft offers a wide variety of certifications for both individual developers as well as companies offering expertise on its .NET platform and related family of Microsoft technologies.

Small Business Certification

Entrance Software has achieved Small Disadvantaged Business Certification with Houston METRO. Entrance will be listed in METRO’s directory as a small business program   participant and in the City of Houston and Texas Unified Certification Program   directory as a Disadvantaged Business Enterprise participant. Because METRO has reciprocal agreements with other city, state and Federal agencies, this Certification allows Entrance to take advantage of many small business programs available to us.

From the METRO website:

METRO’s Small Business Program is entirely race and gender neutral. This means that any small business, regardless of the owner’s race or gender, is   eligible to participate in the program. The Disadvantaged Business Enterprise Program requires that any individual or group claiming ownership of a small or disadvantaged business enterprise must actually own at least 51% of the organization to be classified as eligible to participate.

Customer Satisfaction

Entrance Software has been ranked as one of the top 3% of Microsoft Certified Partners in the US for customer satisfaction, according to a Customer Satisfaction Survey administered each quarter by Microsoft. Nate Richards, President and CEO of Entrance Software, said, “It is difficult to maintain a high level of customer satisfaction while growing a company as much as we have over the past year. I look forward to maintaining the same high level of customer service as we continue to grow through 2006 and 2007.”

Entrance Attains Microsoft Gold Certified Partner Status

Entrance Software has attained Gold Certified status in the Microsoft Partner Program with a competency in Business Process and Integration Solutions, recognizing our expertise and total impact in the technology marketplace. As a Gold Certified partner, we demonstrate expertise with Microsoft technologies and the ability to meet customers’ needs. Microsoft Gold Certified Partners receive a rich set of benefits, including access, training and support, giving them a competitive advantage in the marketplace.

As one of the requirements for attaining Gold Certified Status, we had to declare a Microsoft Competency. Microsoft Competencies are designed to help differentiate a partner’s capabilities with specific Microsoft technologies to customers looking for a particular type of solution. Each competency has a unique set of requirements and benefits, formulated to accurately represent the specific skills and services that partners bring to the technology industry.

The Microsoft Partner Program was launched in December 2003 and represents Microsoft’s ongoing commitment to the success of partners worldwide. The program offers a single, integrated partnering framework that recognizes partner expertise, rewards the total impact that partners have in the technology marketplace, and delivers more value to help partners’ businesses be successful.
